Origin
Products derived from the valorisation of by-products
Our first products are derived from the valorisation of by-products generated during broccoli processing, which can account for more than one third of its industrial production. It is also worth noting that Spain is often the world’s leading exporter of broccoli.
Thanks to the technology developed by our R team, we have been able to extract the precursors (myrosinase and glucosinolates) of the molecule responsible for broccoli’s health benefits (sulforaphane) and incorporate them into our products.
Sulforaphane is produced through the action of the enzyme myrosinase, which is present in broccoli but separated from its precursor glucosinolates, and catalyses the transformation of these compounds into various hydrolysed products, including indoles and isothiocyanates, among which is sulforaphane.
As a result, our products include broccoli’s immunostimulatory properties, which have been extensively demonstrated not only in in vitro studies and animal models, but also in numerous clinical studies. These studies also show that sulforaphane acts as a preventive agent against certain chronic diseases, such as the following:
