Ingredalia S.L. leads the sustainable transformation of the food sector with the BioGreenFood project
At Ingredalia S.L., we are proud to lead as coordinators of the BioGreenFood project, a pioneering initiative that drives the development of sustainable, high-impact solutions in the food sector. This project, key to advancing toward more environmentally responsible models, has the following main objectives:
- Develop improved legume flours, optimizing their organoleptic, nutritional, health, and technological profile, from varieties adapted to climate change and drought.
- Create innovative extraction technologies for bioactive compounds from plant by-products, eliminating the use of traditional organic solvents, to achieve more efficient and sustainable processes.
Ingredalia at the forefront of sustainability and technological innovation
As project coordinators, at Ingredalia we focus on leading the development of advanced technological solutions that maximize the utilization of plant by-products. Our mission is to transform these residues into high-value functional ingredients, promoting a positive impact on the circular economy and significantly reducing the environmental footprint of production processes.
A consortium of excellence to drive change
The BioGreenFood project has a diverse consortium of leading entities in the academic, technological, and industrial fields. In addition to Ingredalia S.L. as coordinators, participants include:
- Navarre Agri-Food Cluster (NAGRIFOOD), as strategic support for knowledge transfer.
- Research centers such as the University of Navarre (UNAV) and the Public University of Navarre (UPNA).
- Leading companies in the agri-food sector, including Alimentos Sanygran, Grupo AN, Productos Trevijano, Alinter Alimentación, and Galar Foods.
Presentation of progress at international forums
BioGreenFood is already bearing fruit that has been shared at internationally relevant events:
- At the Asebio Green Innovation Forum, held on November 19, 2024 in Pamplona, the project’s benefits in aligning the agri-food sector with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were presented.
- During the Biotech4Food European project meeting, on November 21, 2024 at the NH Iruña Park Hotel in Pamplona, the synergies created with other European initiatives in food biotechnology were highlighted.
