Research into innovative pathways to improve the sustainability of the agri-food industry through the valorisation of its by-products

Objectives:

EXTRAVAL is a national consortium industrial research project focused on innovative pathways to improve the sustainability of the agri-food industry through the valorisation of by-products that provide high value-added solutions, with the development of new technologies and innovative applications across different industrial sectors. Work will be carried out with plant waste from the pepper, tomato and cruciferous industries, as well as with waste from the fish industry, such as crustacean shells, to obtain new ingredients, antimicrobial and antioxidant products, and flame-retardant products.

The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), through the Missions Programme, has approved the EXTRAVAL initiative, RESEARCH INTO INNOVATIVE PATHWAYS TO IMPROVE THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE AGRI-FOOD INDUSTRY THROUGH THE VALORISATION OF ITS BY-PRODUCTS. The consortium project, of which INGREDALIA is a member, has been funded by CDTI.
